Mountain's peak

Mountain's peak

I found myself atop a peak in our world
So high up with no way down
Through the dark night, snowflakes swirled
Fresh white illuminating the mountain's crown

Tiny people on the snowflakes played
While mice and lions flew around my head
Through the blinding light that they all made
Stood the phantom of a woman I'd long presumed dead

I reached out my hand and so did she
Her fingers as cold as the snow that fell
In her hand lay an old rusty key
The answer to the question we both knew well

It opened our minds and I saw myself sway
The entire time, we did not speak
Then slowly but surely she faded away
Alone with my thoughts on this cold, snowy peak

The key to life I think, are you a lucid dreamer? I remember images from many years ago, a key floating in space, just out of my reach, I must return and see if it's willing to accept my faith once more. Thanks for sharing.
