A Mournful Relief

A body deep in slumber that shall never awake

So mournful, so peaceful a mind that will no longer ache

The shell of a spirit left behind to decay

That what we knew had now faded away

The corpse remains cold while the mind may rest in peace

To have flesh without a soul to embody causes much grief

Hoping for fantasy, rejecting reality, but nothing can revive the deceased

No longer restrained, yet its a painful relief

A touch so near but a feeling so far

Time heals pain but not this eternal scar

Beneath the Earth is where the body may rest

Above the heavens is where the soul may nest
