MOVING ON

MOVING ON

I came upon a colored man
Put out my arm, to shake his hand
But, he just stared, and then he ran
I did not quite, understand
So I gave chase

He did not run, very far
Before he jumped, in his car
I screamed please stay, where you are
And jumped in front, of his Jaguar
But, he just made his motor race

He tried to quickly, drive away
But I still stood there, in his way
He kept coming, anyway
I pulled my gun and fired away
So, he ran me over, in that place

He also died, from his wounds
The sirens wailed, just like loons
In each chapel, they sang hymn tunes
And we lay dead, in our tombs
While our families grieved, for the human race
