Mr. Incredible

Mr. Incredible

 In 2004,  the animated movie
“The Incredibles” comes out
about a family of four
who must hide their powers
to live a quiet suburban life.

The family must combine
forces to defeat a killer robot
named Syndrome.

The father figure
has strawberry blond hair,
is a big guy with a big chest
and  a pot belly to match.

In 2007, The Incredibles II
opens and my students at the
High School of Health Careers
and Sciences begin calling me
"Mr. Incredible."

My defensive, dysfunctional
and punative Assistant Principal
gets miffed when she gets wind
students call me Mr. Incredible.

She tells me it is egotistical
to call oneself Mr. Incredible.

I inform her,
“The students call me that,
I did not name myself
Mr. Incredible.

Whenever we debrief from
an observation,
I end the meetings by saying,

“I am not perfect,
but I am excellent.”

She hated when I said that,
which is why I did.
