Mr Johnson

Mr Johnson

Nobody noticed Mr Johnson
on that busy day
the old man sat inside the train
as the world went on it's way.
Nobody spoke to Mr Johnson
too busy they all were
somewhere they were going
the moment all a blur.
Nobody loved Mr Johnson
on that day he was not missed
another day in loneliness
as he wrote his shopping list.
Nobody knew Mr Johnson
as they passed him on the train
bereavement brings it's solitude
although he hid the pain.
So many sat beside Mr Johnson
as they texted, tweeted and read
yet nobody cared to look at him
and see that he was dead.

I agree. Isn't the ending the best, well not for the guy that died, but for us readers wow. I never saw that coming, ha-ha. Makes me smile when reading it, although it's sad. Sort of reads like a satire.

Wow! You surprised me at the end. Great work describing the story and creating the "shock-factor" in your poem. Amazing. I have it pinned to read again later.
