Mummy does the laundry

Mummy does the laundry

Mummy’s in the kitchen
I wish she’d take a seat
She’s only cooking dinner
That non of us will eat
Mummy’s going shopping
On a supermarket sweep
To buy in all the things we need
To get us through the week
Mummy’s doing laundry
It’s taken her away
Standing at the ironing board
I wish she’d come and play
Mummy rises early
To get us up and dressed
Waves us off to school each day
Smiling eyes disguise her stress
Mummy’s always tired
She stays at work til late
Earning enough pennies
To put food on our plate
Mummy’s in the bathroom
I think she needs to chill
I hope that she’s ok in there
There’s no time to be ill
Mummy’s in the sky now
She always loved these flowers
I’m glad I got to sit with her
In the final hours
