Mute Darkness

Silently screaming
Instruments rising in a cacophony  
of reverberating sounds
inside my head

None but I can hear
and nobody's there but me
in pressing darkness 
hands reach out at nothingness

Soundless voices
mouths moving on a loop

Demons in the dark consume the light and destroy me...
deliberately and soundlessly.
