My Ballerina Music Box

My Ballerina Music Box

A gift he gave me long ago, it feels good to hold it dear

I open it she dances her tiny little feet with pink slippers

The music plays she twirls around, the sound is soft then disappears

My bracelet lies inside, the one with your name engraved kept for years

I wind it up and she dances again, my deepest sadness when we broke up

We went together for a real long time, tears fall down my heart aches, I shut the lid

The song it plays, is Color My World, you did just that

This gift I hold in memory of you, our love our friendship to be exact

My ballerina music box holds your class ring next to mine

No longer teenagers no skating rink we skate, now we are aged and wrinkled, should love forbid

You are widowed and so am I, let's open up this music box and dance together one more time
