My favorite Melody was you

My favorite Melody was you

Your words they softly spun
around my heart,
as they warmed me,
like a fire on a cold winter night.

Your voice was to be
my favorite thing.
The only one I wanted to hear
when I was feeling down.

I just listened.
Day and Night.
Hoping your voice
would never stop singing.

So when it did,
my heart blackened,
as the wick of a candle
after it stopped burning bright.

My head was spinning
trying to remember your words.
But with time
all I knew left, was hurt.
