My Friend the Moon

My Friend the Moon

Sometimes when I'm lonelyย
I look up at the moon
It stares back at me
With apt amusementย
Sometimes I wish I were
The moon
That way I would never be lonely
With thousands of glittering friendsย
Tombs of fireflies
Who shone only when I
Unveiled my presence
To the midnight hourย
Where fantasy derivesย
imagination breathes
Where wine skies
Cloud behind deep Mediterranean color's;
The original shape shifterย
The moon is a wonder to behold
How lovely the moon must seem
To not only its millions of stars and seas of Earth ย
Who magnetize to its grace
But to the millions of individualsย
Who gaze upon its gloryย
Inspiring the blue acrylicย
Prompting intensityย
Inviting my spiritย
To leave this hollow carcass
And bound to its mercyย
Pleading to be captiveย
In its shadowed eternityย
To be servant to its command
Befriend the wonders of the night sky;
If I ever were to know a spirit in generosity more ย
Then I would fall to my knees
For the moon is all that I cannot say
The souls birth
The souls returnย
