My Heart
 
Won’t you find a cure my disease?
Give me something to put my mind at ease
 
It’s been one hell of a long fight
I need to walk into the guiding light
 
The road’s always been long and hard
I need to be dealt the trump card
 
There’s no relief for the pain I’m in
It hurts so much that it’s a sin
 
This relationship is tired and breaking down
I’m constantly picking pieces up off the ground
 
You say that you love me on the one hand
But it’s the bitter arguing I can’t stand
 
This constant bickering must come to its end
Or there will be nothing left to mend
 
This relationship has been full of heartache
Your cruel words are enough to cause heartbreak
 
Oh I know the full pain of loving you
But tell me what else am I supposed to do
 
I wish I could just spread my wings and fly away
God only knows just what makes me choose to stay
 
I brought you a beautiful bouquet of red roses today
You took my heart and the roses and threw them both away
 
Our relationship has been on the rocks for a long time
You own what’s yours and I’ll own what’s mine
 
My poor heart lies shattered on the floor
As I make my way towards the front door
 
Leaving is the only sensible thing I can do
My heart can’t put up with the pain of loving you
