My Heart

My heart is in despair.

I don’t know how it became that way, when  or where.

It feels like it is being stretched apart.

It must be a very strong heart.

It has endured so much pain.

It keeps beating all the same.

Every day it tries to hold together.

It tries one way and another.

Its’ torture continues on.

It is something that it will go through until I’m gone.

My heart is in despair.

I don’t know how it became that way, when or where.

It is being stretched beyond its means.

It is pulling apart at the seams.

It beats with the feeling of having a bad dream.

In darkness its’ agonizing pain is more felt.

Who knew this would be the hand I would be dealt?

My heart continues to beat anyway.

Hopefully I'll be at peace someday.
