My Heart Keeps Ticking

My Heart Keeps Ticking

I can barely see, it's getting darker and darker

Have I been here before, it feels familiar

No one is here but me, though I hear the sound of thunder

I can remember others in my thoughts

But I don't even see light, I only feel sounds

Sounds above the ground, as I now live under the earth taken

Dead inside, I can not hide, my voice is nearly nothing

I lay inside this coffin and hold on shaken

Hold on to just a memory, a pocket watch

A pocket watch, still ticking, it makes me feel I'm still living

My father's watch takes care of me

While my spirit keeps on breathing

Darkness be, my love I weep, for tomorrow again I'll waken

Dead inside, blind I see, you'll set me free

While the night follows me

My heart keeps on ticking
