My Hero

.
Every weekday I go to LA Fitness, I get there before five a.m.;
Every one I see my Hero, her name is Miriam!
She is training for a triathlon, that’s now two weeks away;
It is unbelievably demanding, the price she’s had to pay!
.
Most mornings, up by three a.m., going for a one hour run;
You’d think that she’d be tired then, but her workouts’ just begun!
It’s then off to our large health club, to go swimming in the pool;
For at least another hour, where does she get such amazing fuel!
.
Then it’s home to work and rest a bit, but in the afternoon;
She takes a lengthy bike ride, to keep her muscles tuned!
Now she’s not a young spring chicken, in her forties I would guess;
So to you, “My Hero” Miriam, I’m am wishing you all the best!
.
P.S. Miriam’s target time was fourteen hours, but a terrible rainstorm came during her bike ride, with high winds and much cooler temperatures. However, she still managed to finish in an amazing fourteen hours and twenty-four minutes.

Hi Larry,
I admire anyone who has the determination , such as Miriam, to train, persevere and get fit enough to do a triathlon- you have captured the effort involved brilliantly LarryÂ
My son and husband did an Iron Man charity challenge which involved a 112 mile bike ride, 10 mile swim ( should have been 1500mts but these two decided to go the ultimate length!!) and finally a marathon 26 miles.over a 24 hour period. I was the counter for the swim ( 640 boring....boring lengths!!) I can well understand Miriams work out regime and how punishing it must have been- well done her!! and well done you Larry for expressing it so beautifully! xx

My Dear Lodigiana,
Unbelievable! I have always watched the Iron Man Triathlon from Hawaii each year, and of course, their swim is only a little over two miles. But, your two "Supermen" swam ten miles, plus the 112 mile bike ride, and the 26 mile run. I think we should change the name of the event to incorporate the hardest substance on Earth into its' title, and make it the "Diamond Man Triathlon". How do you keep up with those two guys? Miriam is my hero, and I am so happy to write of her exploits and get her the adulation that she well deserves.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
Dear Larry, Miriam is such a hero!! I wish I could do a quarter of what she has done!!! I will watch out for her next exploit!
Much love
Lodigiana xx
