My Little Girl

My Little Girl

I thought that I knew happiness,
Until the day you came,
And since you have my baby girl,
I will never be the same.

There was something missing,
And I tried to find the truth,
A gorgeous little bundle of joy,
I was restored back to my youth.

I am sure you feel quite special,
And one day you'll know how much,
A living breathing miracle,
Your kind and tender touch.

As you grow you are learning too,
To ways of this big blue world,
And know that you are equal,
To all the boys and girls.

I am sure that you will be happy,
In whatever it is you'll do,
And know that I am always here,
To share happy and sad times too.

A smart little girl you have become,
And I love you with all my heart,
My forever friend and partner in crime,
And nothing will tear us apart.
