My Mind's Storm

My Mind's Storm

I just stand there watching, stand there being me,
Feeling about as useless, as a fierce storm out at sea,
Not affecting the lives of those on land, only impacting a few,
The storm is contained and not heard of, what am I to do?

The strength of the storm is massive, and out there it will sit,
It would hurt a lot of people, I don't think you'd handle it,
But it zaps all of my power, keeping it away from the light,
It's best to keep it hidden, safe from your thoughts and out of sight.

What is left of me is an empty shell, a false bright sunny day,
I hope it won't destroy me, I can only hope and pray,
The things in life are blurring past, waiting for something that won't come,
Like a shelf just out of reach for you, and way too high for some.

While it's good to save your mind, and keep this away from you,
You can sense that something is amiss, it's like you already knew,
Not addressing the awareness, of the storm stuck out at sea,
You are not embracing the full package, you are not embracing me.
