My Most Faithful Patriot

My Most Faithful Patriot

Samuel Adams and Paul Revere, were Patriots tried and true;
But now, in this modern era, thereโ€™s no one more faithful than you!
Your father took you to their first game, in 1960, on September 9;
Losing to Denver, at Nickerson Field, your eyes so filled with brine!
.
Now fifty-eight years later, you still cheer their every game;
Your favorite football hero, Tom Brady is his name!
Throughout the years youโ€™ve stood by them, all their highs and lows;
No matter how far that you lived away, no matter where youโ€™d go!
.
The week after I first met you, I felt the passion in your heart;
My darling loved Pro Football, a great foundation for our start!
You molded me into a loyal fan, I quickly fell in love;
With the great New England Patriots, and my Soulmate from above!
.
Sunday night they played Kansas City, who had a record of 5-0;
You worried the whole weekend, each hour your angst would grow!
But after the game was over, you had a sweet smile on your face;
The Pats had finally won it, as we hugged and close embraced!
.
.

There lies the legend of good ole Tom:
Forget the run; Just throw the bomb!
Just put me in the Patriot Boat
cuz good ole Tom, he is the GOAT!

My Dear Friend,

I've just met a brilliant man named Dave
Who one of the greatest comments ever, to me gave
I am headed now to his poetry site
To reciprocate with something bright

Peace and Love,
Larry xxx

Dear Lisa,

Cute, cute, cute!
My reply is:
As is a defensive lineman, "tickled" pink, when he sacks a quarterback.

Hello Larry...

I'm our house we grew up on Hockey...

I was born in Boston...

My Brothers played Hockey and I Figure skated...

My Cousin played for the L.A. Rams and I believe he signed a contract with Canada later on...

I'm sure he's long been retired...

Growing up with the Patriots and the Boston Bruins it was hard whenever the Rams played against the Patriots...

So we were good to have Hockey...

I cried when Bobby Orr got injured...

My Dad would see himย  quite often while he was working...

I met him a few times...

Great guy!

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

Our Dear sparrowsong,

Unlike you and Linda, two Beantown girls, I was raised in Dayton, Ohio, where hockey was not a big sport.ย  We lived and breathed football, although when I got a little older, we had a semi-pro hockey team that was formed.ย  Linda grew up in Belmont, where were you raised?ย  It was so great that your Dad actually knew Bobby Orr, and that your cousin played for the L.A. Rams.ย  What was his name, for when I lived out there in the late sixties, I was a big fan.
Imagine my surprise, at finding out that my new love Linda was one "wild and crazy" girl about football, and a lot of other sports too. (especially, indoor ones, ha, ha)
Thank you for your nostalgic comment.

Love,
Linda and Larry xxx
