My Only Truth

I think my whole thought process when it comes to creating my "poetry" is mostly based off of trying to tell a story. My inspiration is nothing, like I may listen to music but I feel it gets in the way because I'ma think of that song. I can't poetrize (if that's even a word) a song cause then they've heard it before. They won't like it. Another thing is that most people used weed or other drugs to create something even half good. There's liquor too. but they needed that to write something they feel. Like you needed something to open you up? It's like a lock and key. You're locked inside your mind and your key to opening up is your drugs and booze. It's stupid really. We live in a world where we're scared to have feelings let alone write them down or vent to someone about them. And it's because they're scared. Afraid that someone won't like what they have to say nor will they care. Then mental illness sets in because they couldn't get their feeling's out. That pressure on their chest was too much for them. It crushed them and now you're waking up to seeing someone shooting up schools or killing themselves. I can't possibly name anyone but us as a people to be responsible because we're checking up on that someone. Or we're being friends with that lonely guy in highschool because he or she dresses different or looks different. That's where poetry comes in. My poetry is not about flowers or colors because those are cool to talk about but it ain't something the people want to look at and read and feel within themselves. I make poetry to inspire, encourage, tell stories that can actually make people feel that same feeling and walk them through the story myself. It's my only truth.
