My Patients
My Teachers

They all three require special attention, they all three require specific love.
Each owning their own flaws, each owning their own strengths and weaknesses.
They all three have taught me, more about mental triggers than anyone else could.
Buster suffers trauma from an attack by a bigger dog, he doesnāt like rough housing.Ā
The word āouchā or any sign of physical pain and he reacts quickly, ready to bite.Ā
Spot suffers from anxiety, he was abandoned as a puppy, left to be all alone.
He whines and whimpers uncontrollably, if he doesnāt have a friend wether human or dog.Ā
Cardi, a victim to her self, less than a year old and pushing over 100 pounds.
Sheās very protective of her family and views everyone unknown as a high threat.
They all are food aggressive, so we feed them separately with all the gates up.
We provide toy puzzles, lick mats, specific diets, car rides and socialization at dog parks.
They are not perfect, but they are perfect to us, they are just like us, each with their own baggage.
They provide us safety, comfort, companionship, purpose and genuine love.
I jokingly call them my patients but the reality is they are my teachers.
All three deserve to be happy, so we provide them with unconditional love.Ā

Aw Rob...Ā I love you for loving them...so many make them suffer. My new alasation Daisy is a nightmare on the lead...going schizo if she glances another dog...I have been socialising her this morning...nightmare. She is so bad no class will accept her but she is only 8 months old so I live in hope...enjoy your lovely companions my friend...hugs to you all x
Awe poor baby, Cardi is 11 months and we have her going to classes this spring with my son to help with her demeanor. We have experienced similar behavior when she spots other dogs unless we introduce them on neutral territory .Ā
I take Daisy to the beach but keep her on other side of the prom...she goes nuts at first but I make her sit as they pass by and cuddle her when she stops barking...it seems to be working...fingers crossed but i dread the day we run into a dog off the lead that the owners can't control....I need classes now to soothe my own anxiety about walking her!! Hope your dog improves for you Rob...personally if I can't stop her behaviour after giving it a good try I will just walk her where its reasonably dog free as who needs the stress....x
We have had great results with lick mats , if you havenāt got her one I strongly recommend it . It helps them before bed to get extra energy out. She loves her puzzle toys too, thereās one she has with little squares that you store kibble under and she has to paw them up or flip them to get the food out. They keep me busy. Our dogs love the beach too, well Iām glad you have a good companion too, they are the best therapy and distraction.Ā
She has puzzle toys etc...never heard of lick mats though...Will Google...thanks Rob š
