My son from another Mum

"Was I a baby inside your tum?" Your question sinks in as I start to feel numb 

What should I say to my sweet little boy who's smile brings my heart
So much endless joy

I'm holding my belly where your new brother grows 
I can't find any words
and my panic it shows

You reach for my hand and I hold it so tight
 I try to say something
but nothing feels right

You were only a baby
a small boy aged two
when you stole my whole heart
with out meaning to do

Your mother had sent you for a visit one day
It's now been three years
since she walked away

I look at you softly as tears fill my eyes
I must tell you the truth
without any lies

"You were a baby from another mum's tum
You were her baby
but your still my  son"

We sit down slowly and you climb on my knee your little hands rest gently on your brother to be

We both remain silent and it's as if each of us knows
