Poem -

Hello goodbye

My Son, My Son

What have I done

To one so precious

To one such as you

You came into this life

As innocent as snow

But you were bathed in water

That was tainted and cold

The soil from which you sprouted

Formed from grains of desert rocks

Unable to nurture

A seedling life

And now you stand

At the cusp of life

But your back is turned

You no longer see me

And how I wish

I could lower my shield

And wield words

Like a sword

To cut open a heart

And heal the wounds

And to let one know

How much they are loved
