My Stone Angel

My Stone Angel
There is a stone angel that stands in my yard
Armed with a sword he’s forever on guard
　
He has got two mighty wings of stone
He watches over me when I am all alone
　
Always there through winter snow and summer heat
He makes my beautiful summer rose garden complete
　
Though he may be only made of stone
I don’t like to leave him in the garden all alone
　
He watches me tend to my garden with care
And it feels good just knowing he is there
　
He exemplifies beauty, strength and love
Could swear that he was lovingly carved above
　
He speaks to me but not in words
I know people will think that absurd
　
Guarding my garden all on his own
He helps to make this house a home
　
Stands with wings folded and sword in hand
A heavenly warrior of both sky and land
　
If my stone angel were to have a heart
Hope from my garden he would never part
