~ MY TIME TO DIE ~

~ MY TIME TO DIE ~

I wish to sleep, a long dark sleep
Where there has never been
Such a silence, devoid of violence
Haunted by my every sin
Oh great creator, what is it in my nature
So depraved and deathly forlorn
That haunts my ugly sleep, where I fight to keep
The baby smell with which I was born

I need to dream, a most decrepit dream
Of death's most mystical rest
Whose haunting call, has invited us all
Into this troubled trespass
Where man's duality, is woven reality
And sex injected into its twist
Where thoughts of procreation, kills this selfish aching
And my bid for god's congress........bleeds

I wish to become the light, shine on the other side
Where life becomes the dream
Where blood is quantum love, where thoughts are cherubic doves
And nothing is as it seems
Where we are understanding, and God does all the planning
So I can finally find a healing sleep
Filled with a blissfulness, and devoid of all painfulness
Where all is precisely as it should be
With no need to cry, I close my tired eyes
And gently, wrap myself up
Inside,
My time to die...

Hello Tony :)
well I could honestly talk about this poem for ages. But I must try and condense my thoughts into a compressed comment. Firstly I love how this begins

”I wish to sleep, a long dark sleep”
as I began to read, I got a sensation of Poe in your words. I do so love a bit of Poe :) so already I was excited to see where this went. I wasn’t disappointed.

“So depraved and deathly forlorn
That haunts my ugly sleep, where I fight to keep
The baby smell with which I was born”

This here reminded me of the Fool in Tarot (bet you didn’t expect that :) ) it speaks to me of how we begin life as the fool or in numerology 0. 0 is also seen as symbolically the egg, embryo, the beginning of life. The major arcana is also seen by many as the journey of the fool. He is the only card who is seen as numberless. He is none of and all of the other major arcana. What I am saying is, he is innocence at its purist form (like a baby) and exists throughout our journey of life. Able to fit in anywhere. So what I am trying to convey is, there is an innocence within us, that never leaves (apparently) :)  See how your poem could have me talking for ages? It is a great write my friend.

The longing to regain that innocence and hold onto it. To recognise the power it has. Better to be a Fool than to see yourself as a Master. For the Fool remains an open book, ready to learn and accept anything new.

Your poem to me talks about ascension, to finally find piece and your place in the universe. To accept and embrace death as not the end, but the beginning of our true purpose. To be mindful of our past mistakes and take stock. Realise a need to regress into the mindset of the Fool

A thought provoking read indeed and so beautifully penned. A favourite for me my friend
Looking forward to reading more from you Tony

Your good friend
Gwen :) x

HOLY GOD!!....this is BY FAR my favorite comment EVER!!......you have touched on so many 'familiar' topics and ideas here that I am as excited about this comment as I am about the fact that the response to this piece was so unexpectedly wonderful!.......I REALLY want you to do a Tarot reading for me....your insights and impressions are so "Dead On Target" that it is a bit intimidating (smiles)......I'm gonna do some snooping into the whole "Fool" thing...it does sound like me, so much so that I find myself wanting to get some Tarot cards for myself......But, I know that you are supposed to wait until someone gives you a deck before attempting anything....but hey, I am young and impressionable so I'll find a way!! (more smiles)......wow Gwen!!....I just can't thank you enough for this truly amazing comment.....it has made my day and given me some serious food for thought......sending you Lots of Love dear poet sister!!........Peace n Stuff!!......I am your cyber-friend and ever admirer!!.......T xo  :  )
