Never Say Never

Our eyes would meet, as our bodies pressed together beneath the sheets, exchanging smiles.

I would say “forever and always.”
Without missing a beat, She would reply “always and forever.”

It was our thing, it was our special moment. Nothing else mattered, no one else existed, it was just us. 

I now realize, it was all just words, she wasn’t being genuine!

For all of our flaws, I would’ve gladly endured forever, to be next to her and hear those words…
