The layers of an onion
The memories of the past
I thought there'd be an end
To the suffering at last
I thought if I went for help
If I faced my past head on
I thought there'd be an end
That the pain would finally be gone
It was then, that I discovered;
You can't put your life on hold
Life doesn't wait till your ready
One day I awoke, to find I'm old
You see, I thought my life was over
That I was waiting, just to die
I'd spent my whole life searching
And yet, I still couldn't tell you why
Why I searched to find an end
But one day, it came to me
There never really was an end
But a new beginning to see
Now I see the possibilities
Life has new meaning for me
Every day is another chance
To live my purpose and be free
