New Beginnings: ( Sonnet, April, 2022)

Under spring blossoms, lovers make their vows,
As Nature's sweet melodies cascade down
From the trees and the skies. O life abounds
Through the bright streets and the singing playgrounds!
Do you remember nights when the moon and
The stars seemed to glow with such golden light
In time with our beating hearts? Understand,
I didn't want it to end that way. Why
It all went wrong, heaven knows? I missed you
So much, but that was way back then. Now, I
Have art, poetry and peace of mind to
Get me through. I've had enough of wicked lies.
My inspiring friends mean the world to me.
And my new Muse lets me follow my dreams.
