Poem -

A Night of Horror

A deathly chill fills the air,

the birds and beasts fall silent;

the moon and stars recoil in fear

as lightning bolts and thunder

rent the glowering skies asunder.

Babes unborn scream in their wombs

and sinners’ bones arise from tombs,

God and Satan avert their gaze

Β cowered by some evil hand.

For once again, bent on revenge,

on his ghostly steed of vengeance,

the headless corpse of Edmund Coombes

is riding through the land.Β
