Nightshades

Nightshades

Β
Dark and murky churns the salty sea
Nightshades grow, cold November rain Β Β Β
Only miles away from home and family
He rows against a restless hissing wind
.
Soul cold and reckless, his heart smitten Β Β Β Β Β Β Β
body flushed with a lover’sΒ anticipation
Yellow lantern signals him from the hill
He turns and quickly begins to row in Β Β Β Β Β
.
Thunder rolls and heavier falls the rain
He only hears her voice calling his name
the sky is red, but the moon is foreboding
He can only see her body comforting him
.
Bedroom lantern shines, door is left open Β Β
He leans in and sweetly calls Β Β her name
Silence. Then a whisper through the wind
She must be in the bedroom…he walks in
Β
Under the blanket she lies eyes wide open
A blood drenched husband now appears Β Β
Knife dripping from his murderous hand
Β rage is unmixed with mercy as he stares
Β

Lisa, as I am hooked on your ink, was reading you last night and enjoying every word and felt a little guilty that I don't contribute enough, so I remember this old write I lost and wanted to re write it, anyway just wanted you to know that you inspired this one and thank you for giving me the gumption to write something, appreciate it greatly, Poetessdarkly, and thanks for your kind words, cheersΒ
