Poem -

no moment is perfect

no moment is perfect

you told me

you loved me

in the backseat of my car

in the parking lot

of the Jewish community center

on a Wednesday night

the same place where

you'd break into the pool

with your friends

on summer nights

you were nervous

and justified your feelings

by saying

"I just can't imagine you not being there"

I imagined this moment

on a starlit beach

or in our

favorite museum

but I like this better
