Normallity Again ?

The kids are back at school again
Hip hip hooray
I need to get back to normallity
Starting from today

Mixed up with what day it is
So confused with time
Counting strikes on my cuckoo clock
Everytime it does chime

Holidays are well & good
They lift your spirits, zest your mood
But they can not last forever
We eat far too much food!!

Now is the time
To get back to routine
Day to day rituals
If you know what I mean

In the blink of an eye
Easter will be here
Another public holiday
Eating easter eggs I fear

Well I dunno about you
But I easily pile on the fat
It is all ‘self inflicted’
I’ve no doubt about that

Cadburys is my downfall
The taste & texture drives me wild
I became a chocoholic long ago
When I was a child

Christmas & Easter
Isn’t good for me
I stuff my face with chocolate treats
I’m as greedy as can be

Now the festive season is over
Christmas is well & truly passed
I’ve made a New years resolution
Go on a chocolate fast

Don’t succomb to buying it
Gain willpower instead
Walk straight past it in the shops
Don’t let my fingers rule my head

Returning to my rambling
Walking with my friend
This extra blubber should decrease
I should soon be on the mend

But I need motivation
I don’t like the cold weather
When it is windy
The gusts blow me like a feather

So rollon April
When the birds start to sing
Baby lambs popping out
Its the first sign of Spring

Its the month that I was born
My favourite time of year
Though I could do without a birthday
Haha I will be sixty I fear

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed my verses
Of this rather long ditty
I’ve tried to keep it lighthearted
& A little bit witty
