"Not Gonna Chase my Blues"

ā€œNot Gonna Chase my Bluesā€

By Jason P. Caldit

Not gonna chase away my blues anymore

See, I was a fool to chase ā€˜em, to try and replace ā€˜em

Next to sunrise and sunset, my blues are a constant

I’ve little left but time on Earth and good conscience

Well that’s not entirely true, time part’s only my desire

Maybe waiting a bit will reignite the fire?

Fire. now that’s a sensation that I’ve missed

I’ve been down and out and cold with remiss

The people I’ve loved have forgotten the person I was

Their memories of me gone along with their trust

So I sit alone without a positive to my name

But the blues are on my side, where I hope they will remain.
