Nothing Concealed

Maruading through a forest
As the evening darkness begins to formĀ
Bare-skinned, nothing concealed
Directionless, like a rat in a maze
Beams of light flicker through the trees
Like orange beacons, flashing, in the night
Shaking, as the light grows more intense
Fearfulness, leaves you swirling in a daze
Feet glued to the ground
The bright blaze gradually dwindles
Peaking slowly, feet feeling lighter
Hearing echoes of horses neighing
Approaching from the shadowy horizon
Spinning 360 degrees
Tension gripping tighter
The wind picks up
Propelling the leaves to sway
Eyes mislead you
Seeing ghosts of the past
Forming as images
In the trees
A faceless man surfaces
Advancing peacefully towards you
Plants his large hand on your shoulder
Walks right through your soul
Then swiftly disappears
Hiding your gaze, you fall
Leisurely to your knees
