Nothing Hidden

Nothing Hidden
by D.C. O’Rourke

In shadowed halls where silence creeps,
A secret stirs, the darkness weeps.
No whispered word, no secret sign,
No hidden truths, no fractured line.
Yet in the void, where dreams decay,
A specter waits, in cold array.
What lies beneath the night’s embrace?
Is there no secret, no hidden trace?
The heart, in vain, may search the gloom,
But naught is found in shadowed tomb.
For in the end, the truth is clear:
Nothing’s hidden, save what we fear.
