Now Me...

Now Me...

As blackness surrounds her she looks deep within
a place where she could feel secure.
The light on the outside would hide all her sins
and the fixed smile made her look demure.
The darkness would hide all the unending tears
that would pool in the pit of her heart,
who would ever have known all the pain and the fears
or how well she had learned to outsmart.
As the emptiness grows she feels she starts to fade,
until nothing remains that is her.
All around her she knows everyone has betrayed
all that’s left is the cruel saboteur.
She feels captive and searches to find her own worth
but forgets where’s she’s hidden the key,
but the black dog has taken dominion of earth
and the she she once was, is now me..

Thanks so much Being M. Yes it is a dark subject ,but after the last year of self isolation I know there will be many people who will have found it tough going and I hope they know that many of us do understand their difficulties and have not forgotten them..there but for the grace of God...go any of us. Thank you so much for your kind words my friend. Lodigiana x

Lodigiana, dark yes and this long past year just adds to any despondency endured by people's of this blue planet.
It's never easy battling the black dog a constant juggling act day by tragic day for so many.
But just to say things change in life and people's circumstances and at the end of the tunnel where there was no light, a faint pinprick develops that builds in volume.
Excellent poem on a real life tough and supressing subject and hang in there with the rest of us mere mortals with all our problems and all our resolve!
Thank you for sharing my friend and stay healthy, safe and I wish you well.
Shaun.x.
