Now You're Gone

Now You're Gone

Long days without a word
No spoken sentiment shared
No written countenance sent their way
Just frigid cold silence in the night

You tore my heart out
With little more than a sentence
I didn't know someone could hold that much power
Over me and my fragile mind

I guess it’s because we were
So tragically close to each other
We shared our minds
Though not our hearts

We were happy, I guess you could say
At peace with ourselves and each other
Our minds calmed
By the easy chatter between us

That’s what I miss the most about us
We may have never had a kiss
Or any of those type of feelings
But we were comfortable and free

There’s a part missing of my heart now
That I don’t think can be filled again
Not in the same way at least
Everyone is irreplaceable you see

So while I may smile and laugh
Seeming careless, as if it doesn’t matter
That’s a lie, I wear around
To hide how I truly feel

But now you’re gone, and so am I
