Octopus Tentacles

Octopus Tentacles

Firstly, repetitive prose really gets up my beak,
because you can do better if you choose to seek,
secondly, love poems are 'done' since 'Unimaginable,'
enough to make me squirt ink instead of using it to write.

Using third gear is enough to make you chug,
although some are hellbent on giving a big hug,
let's be forthright - twist and turn if you wish,
remember I'm a higher echelon, not a goddamn fish.

Let's hang my five, draped over a scallop's shell grinning,
no sour grapes, nothing further's come my way since winning;
two Scottish ladies talking, one says: 'What do you do
about sex?' The other replied: 'About sex, I have mae tea!'

Seven was heaven when I slithered on the beach in Devon,
yes, they do have us there although I won't be going again;
eight completed my ensemble and nice set of charms,
may not be the same next time with a farewell to arms.

Very uniquely worded! I loved the metaphors.

Favorite lines:

Let's hang my five, draped over a scallop's shell grinning,
no sour grapes, nothing further's come my way since winning;

Some of the metaphors went straight over my head! Could you clarify the underlining meaning of the poem? Or what inspired you to write.

Thank you!

Hi Katina,
Generally, maybe we all have say
eight aspects to our lives.
EG. If you read the poem
'Imaginable' on Hello Poetry byJustin G. you could say that there is nothing more beautiful to read!
Love,
Terry.
