Ode to Icecream

Ode to Ice Cream

O ice cream,

locked up in your frozen jail cell.

Waiting,

waiting for me to scoop you right out of your cardboard container,

and onto my carpet of taste buds.

People who say you are nothing but a sphere of creamy sugar,

are drowning in misery,

for their taste buds can’t handle you.

They,

are jealous that you adore others,

and they adore you back.

O ice cream,

interesting,

ingenious,

incredible,

illustrious,

icy.

You are like a small scope of Heaven,

pure joy,

trickling down my chin,

staining my shirt.

But,

I don’t care.

O ice cream,

pale,

minty green,

jam-packed with oreos.

Once gone,

my taste buds mourn,

screaming out for more.

But I can’t satisfy them,

until tomorrow.
