Ode to Eudaimonic Eternal Recurrence

Ode to Eudaimonic Eternal Recurrence

Beseech my soul beneath the weeping willow,

Distended wolf and sheep mending into one,

Bleak woman and man shrieking in unison,

Restive storm portending atop an icy pillow,

In the eye of a dreaming mind,

Spinning in an endless dance of images,

I am blind,

In the boundless abyss.

So strike forth and devour my essence!

Consume and remove that which binds my sense,

Impel the serpent to spit me out anew,

Force my limbs to coil my body in chilling truth,

While the dreaded sun rises atop red-brown hills,

And the horizon cries out shrill–

The call of the bleating lamb at altar;

Do not falter.
