Ode to the domestic feline

I wish to recant my initial disliking of cats
They are to be called heroes for keeping away rats
For this magnificent creature let us tip our hats
Yeah ladies and gentlemen
I bring to you, the cat
King of it's own kingdom
They are masters of the night
But seem to vanish at morn's light
Let's revere their prowess
Stand in awe of their hunting skill
Watch that strong muscles
as they pounce for the kill
Eyes that gleam like two jewels
on the Ethiopian ear of the sky
Staring till the confidence in you die
Silent, deadly, elegant
With their cunning
They can take down an elephant
The furry demon from hell
Maybe once was much sweeter
Who can tell?
I say they're ferocious
When they need to be
And can also be great company
When having your tea
So in conclusion
Cats are an acquired taste
Appreciate them
Or their beauty would be a waste
elegant they are
For they reign with the moon
and a sky full of stars
