Death of a Tyrant

Death of a Tyrant

He has passed away .
Been long ill . Now finally died , in his bed .
There are few good words to be said.
You cannot always , Speak well of the dead .

Tears widespread are shed .
A lot of the people know no other regime .
The future now looks uncertain for them.
They had only ever lived , Under his lead .

For acolytes and cronies , Mixed salad bowls .
They were fully aware of the insecurity of their roles .
Depending on his grace , favor and whim .
Now there is no longer him .

They will fight like rats in a bag .
There is no successor , His death wasn't planned .
Intrigues and schemes . Harboring leadership dreams .
-They did not mourn the death of a tyrant ....

No matter how one tries to dress it up there can be few tears for a monster  like Mugabe who was an egotistical tyrant and led his Country to the brink of financial disaster. The previous history for African states having gone through this type of regime is not very encouraging but one can only hope some stability, freedom and peace can be found. So refreshing to find this kind of reality on site and an interesting and thoughtful piece well written with excellent  imagery. Nice work Chris! Lodigiana x
