Oh For The Weary
The weary lift lead laden feet -Â
To creep woefully through broken sleepÂ
Never to restÂ
Never to reapÂ
The solace in dreams where the conscience seek-
To pryÂ
To find Â
Where truth can hideÂ
Like precious stones concealed inside-
The deepest depths of conscious thoughtÂ
Where peaceful tidings can be boughtÂ
But they with heavy hearts feel damnedÂ
Exist in merely broken landsÂ
Where the hourglass leaks through their open hands
As they struggle to grasp its precious sandsÂ
Oh how the weary try to hideÂ
Disguise the pain in their riddled mindÂ
With eyes like tombstones etched with griefÂ
And nothing but bare bones beneath their feetÂ

Beautiful poemâŚ
Many thanks John x
Oh Gwen, this is beautifully written. It is woefully sad of course but it is supposed to be and the reader is pulled into the living nightmare world with such precision and clarity by your pen.Â
All the while I was reading this I had a picture of a Raven fluttering about. Excellent writing x
Wow Tina I love the vision you received as you read this. Ravens as you know are meant to connect the material world with the world of spirit. So this is so fitting for this poem. I canât thank you enough for sharing that moment with me. Means so much. You are a wonderful reader, writer and artist my friend. Never change as it is a beautiful gift to see đ x
đŚ <--- pretend it's a raven. Much love to you Gwen. Keep writing your beautiful poetry and I will keep reading. Stay awesome and hugs đ¤đ x

God, I feel the eternal weight upon the shoulders in this write Gwen. On and on and on into the distance...far away from and also carrying with us... the dead weight of our lost loved ones. Brilliant write, so glad I caught it here, I nearly missed it ...hugs â¤â¤â¤
Hello lovely, thank you ever so much. You extract the precise meaning I was penning for. That heavy burden of grief we collect as more and more are lost. I wish it wasnât the case. Sending love your way đ thanks for checking back on my workÂ
