Oh Happy Day

My soul says yes as I search for that peaceful place

where I've been made rich... and there is no sorrow

See, joy is unspeakable and I look forward to the day

of no weeping, but a rejoicing in my spirit

Dancing, singing and praising

Oh Happy Day!

My mouth wide opened sounding the alarm like a trumpet in Zion

No worries, 'cause grace is abound

Hearing skilled musicians play beautiful instruments of praise

as I give God the glory, glory for my fruitful days

I rise to kneel, kneeling down before my King in prayer

Grateful for the ability to acknowledge Him in His being

Thank you Lord for your wonderful works in preserving my existence on this earth

Allowing me to enjoy the plan, knowing my purpose

And understanding the will for my life- a life filled with happiness

My journey was long but I made it

I've taken pleasure in everything that doors were open to

I've seized every opportunity given to me by not being selfish, but pouring into the lives of others

Be it someone I just met or a longtime friend

I've ran this race and endured it to the end

I can honestly say that my good days outweighed my so called bad days

I have no regrets, I'm satisfied

I've touched the hearts of many

Laughed with the best of them- shed tears too

Even had a few unkind words with some, but I'm still standing

'Cause when it's all said and done

Oh! What a happy day, a fulfilled and prosperous one.
