Poem -

Old Whale

Beneath this idle sea I ride
My mass slips-ebbs on even tide.

When drift is flat the currents call
The waves will answer, rise and fall.

In depths so silent, dark, no sound
My voice old echoes still rebound.

A song of ages, seas and kin
Horizons slide upon my skin.

Reflect the moon back to the stars
In timeless eyes, in oceans far.

I flick my tale the moon revolves,
In salted breath dreams born, evolve.

The earth and air and sky and sea
All ride upon the back of me.

Beneath this idle sea I ride
My mass slips-ebbs on eventide.
