Old Worn Out Shoes

Feet flushed red with ache and I strap on these old worn out shoesย
Infinite miles I have traveled, pondering for clues
These souls have walked through shit and mud
Leaving prints all over your so called love
These old worn out shoes, experienced and tired
I need some new kicks, these are soon to expire
My foot steps will fade away alongside yours
New things await and I slam shut your self loathing doors
I leave you my old worn out shoes so that I stay in your memory
Those shoes fled after you, and then you finally lost meย

Hi ย Amber Great write I Like howย you usedย
Old Worn Shoes as an analogyย for a relationship
that was nt good as if it is wornย out and of no use now
I like how you use soul instead of sole clever
Brilliant love this !
Best wishes Debsย

Ya know what's SO cool about your stuff AMBER!?....... you're so friggin' hip to the NOW!!..... I'll BET men chase youย after they get beyond your Non de Plume!!....... you're a VERY relevant writer.......and it's always a pleasure........ great use of imagery to drive this home sweet poetesss!!.......ALL STARS!!......T xo.ย ย ?.ย ย
Oh Tony, I don't think so, but maybe I'm not paying attentionย
A beautifully multifaceted metaphor; layered and subtly complex: which you makeย full poetic use of.
I hate to disagree with a fellow poet, but I think Tony's wrong (above)...you're not "hip to the NOW"...like all great artists...you're timeless.
A triumph!
