On Eve of Mischief!

As nightfall a crawls
spiders drop and hide
pumpkins cut to fright
T'is hour of the dark side
Heckle and Jeckyl
spooks and spells
Hocus and Pocus
chanted magic swells
Brooms in twitch
for Mischief Eve
calls to every Witch
to be good, a reprieve
Rays of orange moon
sprays a rusty glare
splattered eggs abound
with eerie cackling blare
Toe creeping steps
scary dressed to trick
skeleton fingers tap
for sweetie treats to pick
Only once a year
Jeckyl keeps inside
frightening just for fun
showing little Miss and Master Hyde
Halloween's a haunting joy
all get with the game
chocolate and sweets appease
small monsters now to tame
Then Hyde to Jeckyl
Vampires to sleep
small Devils full of treats
till next year tricks to keep
Pumpkins fear a fade
their glory again be seen
on Witches night to follow
where only the wicked scream
"Happy Halloween!"
