On reflection

On reflection

I'm a horror
last night..
in lockdown
in town.
My salad had no
salmon...
My order was wrong..
while children starve
I ate profiteroles
and drank champagne..
I felt Rome burn
while I fiddled with
my phone..
And I took a selfie..
What a horror is me..
I should cry and beat
myself in penance..
I'm a Witch..
a bed swerver,
a toad..
of the 21st century..
Oblivious and ignorant..
a sinner..
unconscious selfishness..
there's no hope..
I'm in my own Hell
I subscribed to
and I'm top
on the leader board.

The fish of the sea

Although this comment sounds sinister sorry lol, I like the desperation and seemingly anxiousness in this write. But just so you know, no matter what you're feeling, the Cosmos is always here for you! Kind regards. The Fish of the Sea.

I'm in my own bubble..when you see , and I'm guilty too, people talking about Christmas and the Joy's.. in these times with food banks and homelessness  people losing their livelihoods.it seems shallow to enjoy yourself..I just portrayed that in the poem, plus you never know the anguish behind the porceline face..

Lol....the salmon came later..as I now complain about mistakes, in a civilised way...as people make them..as long as its rectified I'm cool..but I had a mountain of prawns..anyway...lol...I seem to be a bit miserable of late..and now into full lockdown..christmas at work on the horizon.

Being Me

Oh sooooo pinned!  I think we are all guilty of being like this, Pauline. I am ashamed to admit that I can relate to this poem (at least I'm honest - that's one virtue!). Fantastic write. Brilliant! 👏👏👏👏🌹 x
