ONE CHANCE
She loved him from the depths of her soul,
but to no avail
He wanted to control her, break her
until she became frail
A shadow of herself she reached out
to anyone who might care
But why would loved ones want
to help her, to be fair
She had given up on her family her children
to be with a man
Got high on god knows what diced with death
when really from him, she should have ran
She would nt listen to anyone
she thought she knew it all
When everyone had told her, to be with him
she would be heading for a fall
Everyone`s worried but tired of hearing
her lies
I ve told her I will take her in as long
as she cuts all ties
Everyone deserves one chance to
put things right
So I will help her,but I know its going
to be a tough fight
You see i ve been through it myself being
scared beaten, and abused
I know how it feels to be a nothing
just being used
Hopefully in time she will come through
the cruel hurt and pain
and I pray one day in in the future,
with help, her life she`ll regain

They are usually very stubborn until the hit the wall...The reason most women stay in such relationship no matter what is they believe the abuser would change...Keep trying she might listen to you after all since you were once in her shoes and I too pray "...one day in in the future,with help, her life she`ll regain"

Hi Rose I think when you have been abused
it takes strength to say enough is enough
and to seek help. I am hoping that when she
comes to stay with me she will stay true to her words

Hi Dear Debs,
The takers and the givers. She the latter, opening her soul, and allowing him to permeate it. Yet he, the former, absconding with it, draining it of all reserves. So now, resting on your doorstep, is this broken woman, who was once, someone's sweet little girl. The soft love they once were able to bestow upon her can now no longer be available, for in order to save her, tough love must be employed. Yet, with time, and success, each day this love will start to work it's way back to the sweet tenderness it once knew.

Y'ou're a brave soul; not just to have survived this situation, but to hold your hand out to someone else in the same situation. I've been there and God bless the hand held out to me! It makes all the difference to have someone to talk with who has been through this same thing that you're going through. I don't think anyone can really relate well if they haven't experienced it themselves. Great write and wonderful act of brave kindness. - Mimi. xx
Hi Mimi So far so good I am pretty strict but it is needed
and after 2 weeks with me i am pleased to say shes looking better already.
I read her this poem and she cried for the fact she had put so many loved ones
through so much worry, we talk lots and I think she takes on board what I say
I tell her everyday shes a beautiful strong woman she can get through this
and I will be there for her as long as shes truthful
I think everyone needs a chance because when you are so manipulated and abused
by someone you love it so hard to break free, I think you know having been
there too, it is so hard
