One Day

One day you'll look with eyes that truly see,
The beauty of the world, that surrounds you.
One day you'll accept life's fragility,
And have the clout to create something new
Out of the past's fragments. One day you'll find
That disdainful Time is not on your side
And ragged, old age saps your vibrant light.
Only then, will you know that to be wise,
Is to discern, between the fruit and seed.
Nothing can be built on nebulous dreams.
