One Fifty-Two Sixteen Two

One Fifty-Two Sixteen Two

HeyĀ little kiddies, have you heard this story
BoutĀ the Teddy Bear who could count up to fifty
OnlyĀ problem was, the numbers weren't in order
ButĀ his Bear friends all thought he was nifty

He'dĀ start out, ā€œone... fifty-two... sixteen... twoā€
MamaĀ Bear said he was doing just fine
Didn'tĀ want to discourageĀ her little guy's feelings
SheĀ knew he'd figure it out in good time

ā€œHe'llĀ learn them before he grows up,ā€ she thought
WhenĀ it's important to get numbers straight
LikeĀ when he's buying honey for his sweetie
AndĀ the store sign says five ninety-eight

AtĀ first he would count out nine eighty-five
NowĀ that was too much for the honey
ThenĀ he remembered what Mama Bear taught him
AndĀ gave the man the right amount of money

YouĀ can find him going around counting all day
HeĀ goes, ā€œone... fifty-two... sixteen... twoā€
AndĀ laughs when Mama Bear gets all flustered
ThenĀ says, ā€œone... two... three... fooled you!ā€
