ONE THOUSAND YEAR FOR ONE MOMENT

ONE THOUSAND YEAR FOR ONE MOMENT

I travel to the north hemisphere
To the south hemisphere I come back home,
And for a moment I wish to pause
On the right hemisphere of my brain

And think of your face- One thousand years over

                                        I travelled barefoot,
On my shoulders carried the load
With a thousand suns shining on my back
When none of the rays on my eyes shone

I seek for your face- One thousand years more

The burden of going north, the burden of turning east
Roaming round and round till I find what I seek,
One thousand steps to the right-
                                        Of my hemisphere I pause

Still seeking for your face- One thousand years’ worth.
